The world, as we know it, is quickly changing, and many people are adopting a health-conscious lifestyle that has led to a shift in their eating habits as well as beverage intake. “The millennials are actually moving away from alcoholic drinks. Not just that, many of the restaurants are also opening a bar without acquiring a liquor license as they do not sell cocktails. They rather have mocktails or non-alcoholic spirits on their menus,” says Sean Hsu, CEO of Botrista, a company that makes it possible for these restaurants to create fresher and healthier drinks rather than the ones that have high sugar content and artificial flavors. Botrista is an innovative food and beverage technology inventor and provider that changes the dynamics of the beverage industry with its Drink Bot that allows restaurants and eateries to make healthier drinks. The company also recommends recipes and suggestions for the craft beverages that would go with a particular cuisine to help the restaurants make the most of Drink Bot.
Over the past two years, the team at Botrista conducted a conclusive study to understand the trends affecting beverage sales at restaurants. The research led Botrista’s experts deep into the healthy and fresh juice segment, and the eventual findings enabled them to develop Cloud Bar.
It is a fully-automated drink system that not only produces fancy beverages but also comes with a pre-installed digital drink library that houses over 100,000 recipes. “Our mission is to simplify the process of making craft beverages for these eateries more accessible and affordable using automation,” adds Hsu.
Another factor that differentiates Botrista is its Drink-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) subscription model. “We do not charge an upfront fee regardless of the subscription model that a client selects. Once a customer decides to work with us, our team gets device installation completed in less than two hours,” says Hsu.
Botrista’s Drink Bot is a perfect fit for restaurants that have minimal kitchen space.
Botrista’s compact device is less than 24 by 24 inches in size, which makes it easy to set up and maintain at almost any outlet. In most cases, juice outlets can start selling the drinks within half a day after the installation. In addition, Botrista also helps clients choose the best beverage options based on their restaurant’s food culture and style.
Drink Bot proved significantly beneficial for Nextdish, an online restaurant that was looking for a machine that would allow automatic drink production and enable them to stop outsourcing beverage orders. Taking into account that Nextdish’s clients enjoy its Asian treats with the greatest indulgence, Botrista delivered a Drink Bot capable of concocting delicious milk tea as the perfect companion to the savory snacks. With a production rate of 120 drinks per hour, the Cloud Bar has added value by saving on time and costs for the client.
Having implemented the idea of utilizing advanced robotics at restaurants, Botrista is currently looking to further leverage its in-depth experience in robotics, manufacturing, and the beverage industry to enhance its offering. The F&B solution provider has established an R&D and manufacturing center in Taiwan, which allows it to be capital-efficient in terms of designing and producing the next-generation of blender bots. In terms of expansion, the company seeks to have its Drink Bot placed next to beverage vending machines so that when the customers are thirsty, they can have different healthier drinks to choose from. “There is a variety of customers looking for this solution right now, and we want to make it available to them with the vision to make healthier drinks accessible to people,” concludes Hsu.
